 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. UPDATE ON PHYSICAL AND CREDENTIAL SCREENING EXERCISE FOR THE 9TH REGULAR INTAKE OF NIGERIA POLICE ACADEMY IN GOMBE

Today 28/9/2022,the Commissioner of Police Gombe State Command CP Ishola Babatunde Babaita, Psc FDMSS paid an unscheduled visit at the venue of the ongoing police screening for the 9th Regular intake of the Nigeria Police Academy in Gombe for on the spot assessment. The CP who was also accompanied by his management team expressed satisfaction on the progress made and wished the applicants success in the ongoing screening exercise. 

So far,two hundred and seventeen (217) candidates were screened from various local Local Government Areas in the State comprising of Gombe, Balanga, Nafada, Dukku, Shongom, Kwami, Akko, Biliri and Yamaltu Deba.The screening exercise commenced on the 26th September 2022 and is still ongoing. 

Meanwhile,apart from the police team headed by ACP Bello Adamu, others includes representatives of Police Service Commission, police Academy, ministry of police affairs, federal character Commission and representatives of Gombe State government .The excercise is hitch free.
