 FG reaffirms commitment to North-East inclusion in Agro-Industrial Project amid exclusion claims The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has dismissed concerns raised by the North-East Caucus of the National Assembly regarding the alleged exclusion of the region from the Federal Government's flagship agricultural initiative the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) program. The minister of agriculture and food security Sen. Abubakar Kyari made the clarification over the weekend while briefing the media. He noted that the North-East is not only included in the SAPZ program, but that several states from the region have already met the eligibility criteria for the second phase of the project. The response comes on the heels of public criticisms sparked by the recent groundbreaking ceremonies in Kaduna and Cross River states. The King, unveiling his first plaque as Monarch, has officially reopened the Burrell Collection in Glasgow following its six-year long refurbishment. Displayed in a purpose-built, A-Listed museum in the cityā€™s Pollok Country Park, The Burrell Collection was officially opened to the public by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 21 October 1983.

Having reopened to the public in March 2022, the project has delivered new and improved displays and facilities which are an exemplar of sustainable low carbon design. Many of the Collectionā€™s important and unique objects, which have not been seen for decades, or have never been on permanent display, are now on show thanks to a 35% increase in the museumā€™s gallery space.
 
An inclusive approach to interpretation, including dynamic digital, tactile and hands on displays give more visitors a better understanding of the outstanding works of artistic, historical and cultural significance within the collection and the people who made, used or owned them.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. ā€œThe Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,ā€ he said.
