 AG Moves to Decongest  Anambra Correctional Centres as Controller of Corrections Pays Visit. By Chinelo Okeke The Anambra State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke SAN, has reiterated his commitment to decongest correctional centres across the state through speedy dispensation of justice. Nweke made this known when the Anambra State Controller of Corrections, Ezinne Emele Onuoha, paid him a courtesy visit in his chambers at the Ministry of Justice, Awka. Speaking during the meeting, the Attorney General said many inmates remained in correctional facilities without trial, while some families were unaware of the whereabouts of their relatives in custody. He directed that a comprehensive inventory of inmates in all correctional centres in the state be compiled, especially awaiting-trial inmates, those granted bail but yet to perfect their bail conditions, those denied bail and remanded, as well as convicted persons serving various jail terms. ICPC To Appeal Court’s Ruling on Ex-Governor’s P.A. Case

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), is set to appeal the ruling of the Bauchi State High Court which discharged and acquitted Sanusi Mohammed Isa, a former personal assistant to ex-Governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda.

Justice Rabi T. Umar, the Chief Judge of Bauchi State and the presiding judge in the case, had on 13th December, 2022, discharged and acquitted Sanusi Mohammed Isa on all the 36 – count charges against him bordering on corruption, and ordered the release of “all his properties in the possession of the Commission”.

The ICPC traced and seized 220 flats, located in 20 estates, belonging to Sanusi Mohammed Isa in 2017. The houses range from two-bedroom to three-bedroom flats. Other items seized were sophisticated guns, rounds of ammunition, exotic cars, designer watches, bales of brocade and air conditioners.

The Commission expresses its dissatisfaction in the discharge and acquittal of Sanusi Mohammed Isa by the Bauchi State High Court. It avers that the state high court’s judgment was not in consonance with the weight of evidence before the court, including its refusal to allow civil forfeiture.

Part of the evidence presented to the court was the fact that the defendant couldn’t have acquired the 220 two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats, located in 20 estates, and other assets based on his annual salary and allowance. The 220 flats in 20 estates are valued at N1,857,351,750:00.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
