 Milam county, Texas- A high school baseball player and his parents lose their lives in an awful car crash on the way to his game, leaving behind a lone grieving daughter. 43-year-old Clint, and 39-year-old Meghan McCaffety were traveling in a Ford Sedan with their 16-year-old son Connor at 4:40 p.m. on Monday, March 31st.  The family were on their way to one of Connor's baseball games. The trio were traveling on Highway 36 . The family stopped their vehicle at a construction zone  in the west bound lane when a Kia SUV pulled up and stopped behind them. As the two vehicles waited for the light to change, an 18 wheeler came barreling in behind the vehicles and slammed into both cars.  The collision caused the Kia to roll into the ditch and the 45-year-old woman who was operating the Kia was rushed to the hospital.  The extent of her injuries are unknown at this time.  Clint, Meghan and Conner were all pronounced deceased on scene. 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS: POLICE TRAINS 612 OFFICERS TO COMBAT CULTISM, KIDNAPPING, ELECTORAL VIOLENCE ACROSS SIX GEO-POLITICAL ZONES.



As IGP Charges Trainees to Deploy Expertise, Cascade Knowledge to Others


The Nigeria Police Force has concluded the training of Six Hundred and Twelve officers from across the 6 Geo-Political zones on effective strategies for combatting cultism, kidnapping and electoral violence in the country ahead of the 2023 general elections. The training which held at 6 different venue in each of the 6 geo-political zones was organized by the Nigeria Police Force in collaboration with Wan Diyos Limited, a consulting firm, and had renowned members of the academia as well as a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Hashimu Ibrahim Argungu (Rtd.) as resource persons.


The training workshop which held between Saturday 7th January and Wednesday 18th January, 2023, probed historical antecedents as well as contemporary issues and solutions to the challenges of cultism, kidnapping, and electoral violence. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR, emphasized that the training is germane in light of the upcoming general elections to prepare officers to train their men on vibrant tactics to identify and decimate threats to election security management.


The IGP also assured that the training and retraining of police personnel for election security management and professionalism, in all areas of modern policing, will be a continuous project even after the 2023 general elections.


The Inspector-General of Police charged the trainees to deploy the expertise gained from the workshop towards improved management of cultism, kidnapping and election related violence even as he directed them to ensure the knowledge cascades to other officers and men serving in their respective stations/units for a wholistic approach to election security management during the 2023 general elections for free, fair, credible and acceptable elections.
