 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. CITAD Supports 27 Women With N2.4m Grant

In its effort's to promote digital innovation among women, the center for information technology and development (CITAD) ,has provided post-training support worth N2,475,000 to 27 beneficiaries, of the Digital Creativity and Innovation for Young Women, (DICI-YOW).

Speaking during the presentation of cheques , the executive director of the center, Alhaji  Yunusa Zakari Ya’u, explained that, the training was aimed at empowering young girls with digital skills, entrepreneurship knowledge, and gadget operation.

Alhaji Yunusa, who was represented by  the campaign and communication officer, CITAD Malam Ali Sabo explained that, the 
beneficiaries from Kano, Jigawa and Bauchi states, were selected from over 380 applications, with 110 proposals chosen, and 27 excelling in their submissions.

He highlighted  that, the Centre provided funds to beneficiaries based on the category of their proposals, as technological proposals received #150, 000 naira, while other businesses were rewarded with  #75, 000. 

" This is the first batch of the beneficiaries. This is what we are rounding up today and other batches will commence soon,” he said.

He said, the center had planned to ensure monitoring of the beneficiaries progress in their businesses with the capital given to them.

The executive director, urged beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously and become employers of labor, to reduce unemployment.

Earlier,  CITAD’s gender officer, Hajiya Zainab Aminu charged the  beneficiaries to use the funds “creatively and innovatively” in line with the training’s goals of digital creativity and innovation.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Aisha Abdullahi Nayawo, said they were trained on Basic Information Technology, Microsoft Excel, Graphic Designing, Digital Marketing, and other skills.

Aisha commended the  CITAD for the training empowerment funds and promised  that the beneficiaries would use the funds wisely, become employers of labor, and extend the knowledge and skills gained from the training to their communities.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the beneficiaries received certificates and cheques as start up capital.
