  NBC bans Eedris Abdulkareem’s protest song ‘Tell Your Papa’ from radio, TV The National Broadcasting Commission has barred Nigerian radio and television stations from airing the trending song “Tell Your Papa” by veteran rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, citing its “objectionable nature.” In a memo dated April 9, 2025 and issued by the Coordinating Director of Broadcast Monitoring, Susan Obi, the commission declared the track Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB) under Section 3.1.8 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code. This section prohibits content deemed inappropriate, offensive, or in breach of public decency from being aired on Nigerian broadcast platforms. According to the NBC, while the song has gained momentum across social media platforms, its lyrical content fails to meet the standards of responsible broadcasting. FG Declares May 1st, Public Holiday

Federal Government has declared Monday 1st of May as Public Holiday to mark this year’s Workers Day Celebration.

Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola congratulated workers across the country on this year’s celebration.

Ogbeni Aregbesola commended workers for their hard work, diligence and sacrifice, noting that their efforts are largely responsible for the greatness of the country and the respect Nigeria now commands in the comity of nations.

According to the Minister, there is dignity in labour, we have to have dedication and commitment to the work you do, because it is vital to nation building.

He urged workers to imbibe the culture of productivity.

The Minister also urged workers to improve their craft in line with the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s drive to modernize the means of governance and ensure that every Nigerian receives the greatest benefits from the country.

He lauds the security services for the fight against crime nationwide and exhorts them to keep up the good work and never give up on stopping criminals whenever they rear their heads.

The Minister therefore urges Nigerians to be part of the nation’s security architecture by being vigilant and reporting suspicious individuals and activities to law enforcement agencies nearest to them.

He urges the citizens to make use of the N-Alert Application on Android and iOS.
