BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED OVER FARMER-HERDER CLASH IN NINGI LGA THAT CLAIMED ONE LIFE Following the unfortunate farmer-herder clash at Guda Village in Ningi Local Government Area, the Command wishes to inform the public that four suspects have now been arrested in connection with the incident. On 23rd September, 2026 at about 0740hrs, three farmers from Guda Village went to their farms on Guda Hill and found cattle belonging to a herder grazing on and destroying their crops. They chased the cattle to the herders' settlement where an argument ensued and degenerated into a fight. In the process, the three farmers sustained injuries. Sadly, in retaliation, some youths from Guda Village mobilized and set ablaze houses at the herders settlement. Operatives from Ningi Division responded promptly, restored normalcy and evacuated the injured to General Hospital Ningi. Nigeria’s Veteran Journalist, Peter Enahoro Dead

One of Nigeria’s veteran journalists, Peter Enahoro, popularly known by his pen name; Peter Pan has passed on.

It was reported that Enahoro, born January 21, 1935, gave up the ghost in London, United Kingdom on Sunday.

The 88-year-old journalist, author, businessman and publisher was known by the pen name Peter Pan because of his popular column in New African magazine.

The development was announced in a terse statement by Nigeria’s foremost female journalist, Ms Bunmi Sofola.

The statement read in part, “Regret to announce the passing on of our iconic journalist Peter Enahoro “Peter Pan” today in London at the age of 88. RIP.

“Also known by the pen name of “Peter Pan” because of his popular column in New African magazine under that name. He has been described as ‘perhaps Africa’s best-known international journalist’”.

Born January 21, 1935, Enahoro was a journalist, author, businessman and publisher.

The deceased columnist is one of the pioneers of Nigerian journalism and became editor of the Daily Times at a young age.

Enahoro attended the prestigious Government College, Ughelli (in present-day Delta State), and was a contemporary of the famous poet and Africa’s first professor of English, JP Clark.
