 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Anambra boy to represent Nigeria at global chemistry event 


A student of Premium Breed Secondary School, Nnewichi Nnewi, Anambra State, Favour Chigozie Nwadinobi, has emerged as the overall best in Chemistry in Anambra.


As a result, he has become one of the six finalists to represent Nigeria at the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad holding in Switzerland.


Nwadinobi competed with students from over 600 schools in Anambra to emerge as one of the finalists to represent the country.


In his speech, Nwadinobi attributed the achievement to God, his teachers and his dedication to studies.


Welcoming the team in her office at the State Secretariate Complex Awka, on Friday, the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, restated Nwadinobi’s feat was a demonstration of the State Government’s unwavering commitment to providing Anambra students with every opportunity to excel academically at both national and international levels.


Chuma-Udeh commended Nwadinobi and the School for their outstanding performance while emphasising the importance of continued dedication and hard work.


She enjoined them not to rest on their laurels as the state would eagerly anticipate an outstanding performance at the Olympiad.
