 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly.  Civil Servants, Military To Experience Delay In May Salaries 

Nigerian civil servants under the employment of the Federal Government will experience a delay in the payment of May 2023 salaries. 

It was gathered that this was because Ministries, Departments and Agencies were yet to get debit approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Earlier, some civil servants in separate interviews with our correspondent noted that their salaries for May 2023 have not been paid.

In a memo addressed to workers of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the authority noted that the delay in the payment of workers was peculiar to all workers including the military and para-military.

The memo signed by its acting General Manager, Administration, Oluwasola Awe partly reads, “This is to inform all staff that Management has uploaded salaries and is awaiting debit at the Central Bank of Nigeria. However, FAAN have been advised that the payment of May 2023 salary would be delayed beyond the normal cycle due to glitches from the CBN’s portal.

“Please note that this situation is not peculiar to FAN alone as other MD’s including the Military and Paramilitary agencies are experiencing the same delay. Management appreciates your co-cooperation and understanding in this regard.”
