 Chawai Community Appeals To Gov. Uba Sani For Relief, Medical Support After Deadly Kauru Attack The people of Chawai Chiefdom in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State have appealed to Governor Uba Sani to provide urgent relief and medical assistance to victims of the deadly attack on Naridon village in Kamaru Ward. In an open letter addressed to the governor, the community commended his leadership, describing his administration as inclusive and fair. They said this had given residents confidence that every community in the state is valued. The community, however, expressed concern over what it described as the lack of government intervention following the attack on Naridon village, in which it said 30 people were killed. According to the letter, many survivors and families of the victims are still struggling with grief, trauma, displacement, and the challenges of caring for those injured in the attack.  Civil Servants, Military To Experience Delay In May Salaries 

Nigerian civil servants under the employment of the Federal Government will experience a delay in the payment of May 2023 salaries. 

It was gathered that this was because Ministries, Departments and Agencies were yet to get debit approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Earlier, some civil servants in separate interviews with our correspondent noted that their salaries for May 2023 have not been paid.

In a memo addressed to workers of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the authority noted that the delay in the payment of workers was peculiar to all workers including the military and para-military.

The memo signed by its acting General Manager, Administration, Oluwasola Awe partly reads, “This is to inform all staff that Management has uploaded salaries and is awaiting debit at the Central Bank of Nigeria. However, FAAN have been advised that the payment of May 2023 salary would be delayed beyond the normal cycle due to glitches from the CBN’s portal.

“Please note that this situation is not peculiar to FAN alone as other MD’s including the Military and Paramilitary agencies are experiencing the same delay. Management appreciates your co-cooperation and understanding in this regard.”
