 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. Nigerian pastors condemn Quran burning in Sweden, call for calm

Some Pastors in Northern Nigerian have condemned the recent incident of burning the Holy Qur’an in Sweden.

The act took place on the first day of Eid al-Adha, a significant festival in the Muslim calendar, and has sparked anger across the world.

Reverend Dr. James Nobel, co-director of the Interfaith Mediation Center, and Pastor Yohanna Buru, General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Kaduna, expressed their disappointment with the Swedish government for authorizing such an act.

Both pastors emphasized that Islam promotes peace, love, and unity among all people, and they are prepared to defend the Holy Qur’an at any time and any place.

They condemned the incident strongly, recognizing its detrimental impact on global peace and stability.

They called on world leaders, particularly the European Union, to urgently address this issue and hold the perpetrators accountable.

In a plea for forgiveness and calmness, the Christian leaders extended their apologies to the entire Arab world and the Muslim community worldwide.

They urged Muslims to remain calm in the face of provocation, emphasizing that they cannot remain silent as ambassadors of peace.

The incident involved two individuals burning a Qur’an outside Stockholm’s central mosque, with permission granted by a Swedish court.

The act was met with around 200 spectators and counter protesters. One individual was detained after attempting to throw a rock.

The pastors emphasized the need for swift action to prevent the recurrence of such actions, as they undermine peace and stability worldwide. (Daily Trust: Text, Excluding Headline)

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
