 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. PDP Chieftain Drags Omadefu To Court Over Alleged Certificate Forgery

The member representing Keana Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA), Adamu Mohammed Omadefu has been dragged before a Federal High Court sitting in Lafia over alleged forgery of secondary school certificate. 

Mr Omadefu who's serving second term was sued alongside the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as 2nd and 3rd defendants in the suit respectfully. 

The candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for Keana Constituency in the recently concluded 2023 general elections, Osheka Ogwole instituted the suit on Wednesday June 07.  

Mr. Ogwole, a seasoned Quantity Surveyor and Valuer alleged that the Senior School Certificate of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) submitted by Omadefu for election was forged. 

The PDP Chieftain stated that Omadefu (1st defendant) has no minimum requirement to gain admission into tertiary institution in the country and that he relied on a fake certificate to hold public office. 

In the writ of summons, the Court commanded the defendants to file their defence within 30-days upon service. 

Omadefu, a graduate of Political Science from the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto (UDUS) had submitted the certificate dated 1992 which only bears 'Jos' with no specific name of centre (school). 

Born in 1976, he was mobilized for the mandatory one-year national youth service in 2002 upon graduation from the university in 2001. 

He attended Keana Central Primary School where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1985.
