 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Enugu Residents Turn Out En Masse For Peaceful March Against Mondays Sit-at-home

The city of Enugu came alive like never seen before on Mondays in the past two years residents of the state came out en masse for a a peaceful march against the Monday Sit-at-home which has been going on in the state.


The Governor of Enugu, Dr. Peter Mbah upon assuming office, declared that the state will not obey the illegal order which the mainstream Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has distanced themselves from.


The men, women and youths numbering over 5,000 walked the streets of the state in solidarity with their Governor, stressing that Sit-at-home is no longer funny.


Marching from Okpara Square to Eastern shop down to the popular Ogbete market, the residents said the state is bleeding while appealing to the residents to come out for their normal business activities.


They carried various placards with different inscriptions depicting their message.


“You enjoy overseas and punish us with Sit-at-home.”


“Enugu is Enough, say no to Sit-at-home.”


“Our mumu don do! No more Sit-at-home”


“We no longer meet up with our hire purchase because of sit-at-home.”
