GABON'S LEADER NGUEMA ELECTED PRESIDENT WITH 90.35% OF VOTE, INTERIOR MINISTER SAYS

 Gabon's leader Nguema elected president with 90.35% of vote, interior minister says Brice Oligui Nguema, who led a coup in Gabon in August 2023, won Saturday's presidential election with 90.35% of votes cast, according to provisional results, the Central African country's interior minister said on Sunday, Reuters reported. The result cements Nguema's grip on power 19 months after the coup ended more than half a century of rule by the Bongo family in Gabon, an oil producer with a population of around 2.5 million. Nguema's most prominent opponent in the eight-candidate race was Alain Claude Bilie By Nze, who was serving as prime minister under President Ali Bongo at the time of the coup. Nze, 57, finished with 3.02% of the total, according to the provisional results announced. Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, Wife, Split After 18 Years Of Marriage 

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau has announced he is separating from his wife, Sophie, after 18 years of marriage.

On Wednesday, Trudeau made the announcement on his official Instagram account, noting that it was reached after "many meaningful and difficult conversations."

He wrote "Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate. 

"As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you."

According to Dailymail, a statement shared by the Prime Minister's office revealed that Trudeau and Sophie have signed a legal separation agreement

Despite their split, it was also revealed that the family will vacation together from next week.

The statement read in part, "They have worked to ensure that all legal and ethical steps with regards to their decision to separate have been taken, and will continue to do so moving forward.

"They remain a close family and Sophie and the Prime Minister are focused on raising their kids in a safe, loving, and collaborative environment. The family will be together on vacation, beginning next week."

Trudeau tied the knot with his wife in 2005. They welcomed their first child, Xavier in 2007, their second child, Ella-Grace in 2009, and their third child, Hadrien Gregoire in 2014.
