  PRESS STATEMENT  NIGERIA CUSTOMS SERVICE DEBUNKS FALSE REPORT ON EXTENSION OF COMPTROLLER-GENERAL A'S TENURE 1. The attention of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has been drawn to a fake release allegedly from the State House regarding an extension of the tenure of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR. The NCS wishes to categorically state that this information is inaccurate and misleading. 2. ⁠For the avoidance of doubt, appointments and tenure extensions for the position of Comptroller-General of Customs are made solely at the discretion of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, in line with the provisions of the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023 and other relevant regulations governing public service appointments. It’s not because of football – Laporta slams players joining Saudi Arabian clubs

Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, has slammed players who have decided to leave Europe for big-money deals in Saudi Arabia.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United for Al Nassr, a number of footballers have made the move to the Middle East.

However, Laporta believes they are not moving to the Saudi Pro League for the right reasons.

“When a player, and with all respect, prefers to go to Saudi Arabia, basically there are no sporting reasons.

“You know, there are other reasons that are the priority. And the football must be the priority – the sporting reasons must be the priority,” Laporta told CNN.
