 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. BORNO GOVT PRESENTS OVER N350M FOR 2023 NECO EXAMINATION.(PHOTO).

 Borno Gov't Presents over N350M For 2023 NECO Examination 


Borno State government has presented a cheque of three hundred and fifty three million two hundred thousand naira to the National Examinations Council NECO for payment of 2023 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations SSCE candidates in the state.


 Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Alhaji Lawan Wakilbe present it at a ceremony in Maiduguri.


He said the cheque is for the twenty two thousand, four hundred and fourteen candidates of Public Schools who sat for 2023 SSCE across the twenty seven local government areas of the State.  


According to him, this year's examination was extended to seven additional Local Government Areas of Damboa, Gwoza, Dikwa, Mafa, Monguno, Gubio and Mobbar hitherto suspended due the insurgency. 


The Commissioner informed the NECO Coordinator that Borno state government has fulfilled all its obligations to the Examinations body from 2019 to date and expressed happiness with the Council has keyed into the resettlement drive of the government. 


State Coordinator National Examinations Council NECO, Aliyu Jajere lauded the state government for its contribution to the development of education through prompt payment of its obligations.


He also commended the resilience of the students, teachers as well as the Commissioner for conducting a hitch free examinations particularly at the newly resettled Local governments.

            

Alhaji Jajere also acknowledged the contribution and logistic support of local government councils for smooth conduct of the exercise.
