 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Borno Gov't Presents over N350M For 2023 NECO Examination 


Borno State government has presented a cheque of three hundred and fifty three million two hundred thousand naira to the National Examinations Council NECO for payment of 2023 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations SSCE candidates in the state.


 Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Alhaji Lawan Wakilbe present it at a ceremony in Maiduguri.


He said the cheque is for the twenty two thousand, four hundred and fourteen candidates of Public Schools who sat for 2023 SSCE across the twenty seven local government areas of the State.  


According to him, this year's examination was extended to seven additional Local Government Areas of Damboa, Gwoza, Dikwa, Mafa, Monguno, Gubio and Mobbar hitherto suspended due the insurgency. 


The Commissioner informed the NECO Coordinator that Borno state government has fulfilled all its obligations to the Examinations body from 2019 to date and expressed happiness with the Council has keyed into the resettlement drive of the government. 


State Coordinator National Examinations Council NECO, Aliyu Jajere lauded the state government for its contribution to the development of education through prompt payment of its obligations.


He also commended the resilience of the students, teachers as well as the Commissioner for conducting a hitch free examinations particularly at the newly resettled Local governments.

            

Alhaji Jajere also acknowledged the contribution and logistic support of local government councils for smooth conduct of the exercise.
