Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, Issues Public Apology

In a surprising turn of events, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has issued a public apology to the people of Edo State and the State Government. The apology, which comes after a series of controversial actions, was made public through an official statement from the Office of the Governor.

The Deputy Governor's actions that led to this apology included the filing of unfounded petitions in Nigerian courts, which aimed to restrain the Governor, the State House of Assembly, and security agencies from a non-existent impeachment process. These actions were followed by repeated breaches of protocol and unwarranted attacks on the Governor and the State Government in the media.

These developments had created a sense of crisis and unrest among Edo State residents and had drawn attention on a national and international scale. Governor Godwin Obaseki, while acknowledging the discomfort caused by these provocations, has chosen to accept the apology, citing the adage that "to err is human, to forgive is divine."

In his statement, Governor Godwin Obaseki expressed his hope that the public apology is genuine and that it will be followed by efforts to improve conflict resolution skills. He also urged the Deputy Governor to ensure that his proxies act in accordance with the principles of piety.

The Governor emphasized the need to put an end to these controversies and rhetoric, allowing the administration to focus on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Edo State in its final twelve months in office.

This unexpected development has left many in Edo State wondering about the future dynamics within the government and the impact it may have on the administration's ability to fulfill its promises to the people. As the situation unfolds, Edo residents and observers will be closely monitoring the Deputy Governor's actions in the coming weeks.

For now, all eyes are on Edo State as it navigates this unexpected chapter in its political history. Stay tuned for further updates on this evolving story.
