 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. INEC Fixes Nov 18th For Conduct Of LG Elections In Taraba


Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission has fixed the  eighteenth of November this year for the conduct of the Local Government elections.


The Executive chairman of TSIEIC Dr Philip Danladi Duwe announced this during an interactive session with media managers and newsmen in the state held at the commission's office in Jalingo. 


Dr Philip Danladi Duwe said the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission was making all necessary arrangements to conduct credible election that would be acceptable to all.


He pointed out that the commission was working tirelessly to ensure that communities displaced by conflict or flood disaster were not disenfranchised as consultations were ongoing on modalities to be adopted to enable eligible voters from such communities participate in the election. 


While commenting on the tenure of    local government officials, TSIEC Executive Chairman said all elected officials would serve for three years.


 Dr Philip Danladi further solicited for the support of the media in the state while promising to ensure transparency at all levels of the election.


At the moment there are three thousand six hundered and fifty polling units in one hundred and sixty eight wards across the sixteen local government areas of Taraba where elections are expected to be conducted during the Taraba State 2023 Local Government elections.
