The Anambra State Ministry has taken delivery of a newly refurbished classroom block and school hall at College Primary School, Oko.

The block of classrooms and school hall were refurbished by Mr. Godon Obidigbo, Founder of the Oku Chukwumunyelu Foundation.

Prof. Chuma-Udeh said that it is Mr. Governor's mission to debunk the trading mindset that public schools are for the children of the poor, a place of low-class teaching, adding that solution-led administration is coming up with policies that will address this abnormally.

She equally emphasized Gov. Charles Soludu's pronouncement that education from nursery, primary to Junior Secondary is free and compulsory for all school-age children in Anambra.

Commissioner Chuma Udeh called on other well-meaning and wealthy Anambra indigenes to emulate Mr. Obidigbo and key into the government adoption of school initiatives, to ensure that community schools are revamped to meet modern trends in education.

Earlier in his Speech, the Benefactor, Mr. Obidigbo of Oku Chukwumunyelu Foundation, said that the projects being commissioned were his way of supporting grassroots education by creating an enabling atmosphere and encouragement to students of his alma mater to embrace education and shun anyone who says education is a scam.

He reaffirmed that the key out of poverty remained education while promising to help every brilliant indigent pupil of the school to further his or her education.

Delivering the welcome address, the Head Teacher of the School, Mrs. Rose Umeh said that on assumption of office, she met a school that lacked every semblance of what a school should be.

Mrs. Umeh thanked Mr. Obidigbo and his foundation for overhauling the school and making it conducive to learning.

In his remarks, the Mayor of Orumba North, Mr. Ogo Ekwueme commended Mr. Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo's relentless drive to upgrade the state's public schools to smart schools through the "adopt school initiative," which has led to well-meaning Ndi Anambra having taken up the challenge of revamping community schools in the villages.

The highlight of the occasion was a tour of the facility by the Commissioner of Education, prof. Ngozi Chuma Udeh and Commissioner of Works, Barr. Pauly Onyeka, ably represented by Deputy Director, Mr Ojeleke.
