 Man brutalises his pregnant wife in Anambra  In another case of domestic violence, a pregnant woman was brutally beaten by her husband in Ichi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The mother of three identified as Chinelo Francis, from Ebonyi State, said trouble began when she requested money from her husband, Peter, to prepare food.  According to the young woman, she had already bought vegetable with the profit she made from her shop. Peter, also from Ebonyi, claimed he didn’t make money that day and took the children home.  He returned to her shop at around 8:00 PM and insisted she close up and come home with him.  She refused, explaining that the time was when she typically made most of her sales.  Later, she closed up her shop, went home at 9:30 PM, prepared the children for bed, and retired. Police arrest man for snatching woman’s phone in Jigawa

A 30-year-old housewife Halima Ya’u narrowly escaped death after a phone snatcher attacked her in Kadoma village, Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
A resident told DAILY POST that the phone snatcher took advantage of her husband’s absence and sneaked into the house.
He said the attacker asked the woman to hand over her phone which she refused. He attacked her with a knife, inflicting cuts on her body and made away with the phone.
Police spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
According to him, “on 22/09/2023 at about 0400hrs, a distress call was received from Kadoma village Jahun LGA that an unknown person trespassed into the house of one Halima Yau attacked her with a knife which as a result she sustained injuries on her face and back and took away with her phone.”
He said on receiving the report, a team of policemen was mobilized to the scene where the suspect was arrested and the exhibit was recovered.
He said the suspect confessed to the commission of the offense and will be taken to court for prosecution after an investigation.
