 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. Police arrest man for snatching woman’s phone in Jigawa

A 30-year-old housewife Halima Ya’u narrowly escaped death after a phone snatcher attacked her in Kadoma village, Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
A resident told DAILY POST that the phone snatcher took advantage of her husband’s absence and sneaked into the house.
He said the attacker asked the woman to hand over her phone which she refused. He attacked her with a knife, inflicting cuts on her body and made away with the phone.
Police spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
According to him, “on 22/09/2023 at about 0400hrs, a distress call was received from Kadoma village Jahun LGA that an unknown person trespassed into the house of one Halima Yau attacked her with a knife which as a result she sustained injuries on her face and back and took away with her phone.”
He said on receiving the report, a team of policemen was mobilized to the scene where the suspect was arrested and the exhibit was recovered.
He said the suspect confessed to the commission of the offense and will be taken to court for prosecution after an investigation.
