"SHE REALLY STRUGGLED WITH ME": MAN BUILDS NEW HOUSE FOR MOTHER WITH FIRST SALARY AS TEACHER
2nd September, 2023
Teacher Safari Bornface Tuluba has done what many sons wish for which is to build a new house for their mothers.
He did so with his first salary, savings, and a few loans from friends, a project that lasted two years since groundbreaking
Safari explains that he prioritised his mother’s house over his own as a way of thanking her for enduring numerous challenges to ensure he was educated to university
Growing up, Safari Bornface Tuluba watched his mother struggle to provide for the family as well as educate him and his siblings.
Safari built the house in two years, with the help of loans from friends.
Given that they are from a humble background, they were raised in a dilapidated house that did little to protect them from the elements of the weather.
The third born was touched by the mother’s sacrifice, so much so that he promised himself he would upgrade her the day he started earning.
House took two years to complete
Shortly after he was employed as a teacher, Safari embarked on a mission to build a new house for the mum, saving his first salary for the project.
The man from Choi village, Akachiu ward in Igembe South of Meru county, told THETALK.NG that the construction was made possible through salary, savings, and a small loan.
With N5.7 million, the grateful son was able to demolish the rundown house they grew up in and replace it with a two-bedroom permanent house.
“The groundbreaking was done on December 31, 2021, so I can say the house has taken me two years to complete,” he said with pride.
Safari chose to build for mother first
It is easy to assume that the family man already had a house for himself when he started building one for his mother, but that is not the case.
