 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. Parliamentary Workers Shut Down Nassarawa State House Of Assembly 


                           


Parliamentary workers in Nasarawa State have shut down the State House of Assembly following a peaceful protest over non implementation of financial autonomy to the legislative arm of the government.


The State Chairman of Parliamentary  Staff Association of Nigeria ,Comrade Suleiman Oshafu in an interview in Lafia said the decision to shut down the state House of Assembly complex was in compliance with the nationwide indefinite strike declared by the national body of the association.


He stated that the State House of Assembly complex would remain closed until the state governor commence full  implementation of financial independence of the legislative arm of the government.


Comrade Oshafu noted that Parliamentary workers in the State  House of Assembly have been passing through difficult times including poor welfare due to lack of financial independence.


Comrade Oshafu called on the parliamentary workers to be steadfast, peaceful and committed to the course to ensure better working conditions.


At the time of filing this report security personnel were drafted to the assembly complex to curtail any possible breakdown of law and order.
