So Linus Williams (Blord) has been released from Kuje prison after fulfilling his bail conditions, finally, freedom after a few weeks in custody. However, here’s the current position of his case:  He is still expected to show up and stand his trial.  If he fails to appear in court even for one day, his bail can be revoked and a bench warrant may be issued against him, meaning a return to Kuje. If the prosecution cannot prove the charges against him, he will be discharged and acquitted. If the prosecution proves the charges, he may be sentenced and sent back to Kuje. I think he should seek a peaceful resolution to the case. Congrats to him on his freedom for now.

Bishop Kukah Criticizes Yahaya Bello Ahead of Kogi Election, Calls for Peace in Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa

Bishop Matthew Kukah, convener of the National Peace Committee, expressed disappointment in Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, citing concerns about the pre-election violence in the state. Speaking on Channels TV's Sunrise Daily, Kukah highlighted Bello's failure to meet the expectations associated with his position as the country's youngest governor.

"He's been a very poor advertisement for what young people can do," Kukah remarked, referencing Bello's representation of youth potential in governance. Bello assumed office in 2015 after the demise of Abubakar Audu, who initially won the governorship election under the All Progressives Congress but passed away before taking office. Bello secured a second term in November 2019.

Kukah extended his concerns beyond Kogi, addressing the impending governorship elections in Imo and Bayelsa. He urged a peaceful resolution between the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Imo State government, emphasizing the importance of considering the common good in such conflicts.

The Bishop appealed to various entities, including civil society organizations, unions, and religious leaders, to act in the collective interest and ensure a peaceful electoral process. He stressed the necessity for security during the elections, emphasizing that the people's welfare should not be compromised for personal or group interests.

Reflecting on global crises and disasters, Kukah urged introspection, questioning why internal conflicts persist when considering the broader scope of challenges the world faces.

In a passionate plea, he emphasized the need for unity and peaceful resolutions, calling for stakeholders to prioritize the well-being of the people over individual or factional gains.
