 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. Anambra Deputy Governor Meets Nsugbe Elders, Stakeholders Over Boundary Issue

The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim says peace in every community brings unity and as well help the state government boundary committee to make their work easier.

Dr Ibezim made the assertion during a visit to elders and stakeholders of Nsugbe community at St John the Baptist Church, Nsugbe.

He commended youths of Nsugbe for still maintaining peace and exploring legal options from the elders.

Dr Ibezim called on the community to nominate 10 representatives to come to his office at Awka with the necessary documents and prove of the land ownership and effects of the crises on the part of Nsugbe.

He promised that government will deal with anybody or group of persons or town that failed to maintain the status quo while the matter is under investigation.

The traditional ruler of Nsugbe, His Royal Highness, Igwe Victor Ntoka, called on the state government to give judgement on the lingering boundary crisis between Nsugbe and Umueri, saying that the killings of their two son's was unbearable.

The President General, Nsugbe Development Union, Mr. Robert Ezeanwu commended the deputy governor for all his efforts to bringing lasting solution to the crisis.

He pleaded for fast enquiries together with autopsy to their people killed by Umueri community to enable government to release their remains for burial.

Mr. Obi Micheal Amakom, spokesperson from Enugwu village, Nsugbe gave brief history of the origin of the land between the both communities which showed that the land belonged to Enugwu village, Nsugbe.

Dr Emma Agwu, from Ogwuari village, Nsugbe, expressed anger over the killings of two Nsugbe sons, saying that the culprits were moving freely and their identities are not hidden.

He appealed to the government to fish out those behind the killings and deal with them according to the law.

Ben Ekwonu from Offianta village, Nsugbe, and Engr Chidi, the youth chairman urged the state government to quickly react and prevent further actions for more attacks from Umueri community.
