 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. JAMB begins sales of 2024 UTME forms January 15

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the dates for activities that will culminate in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement, yesterday, indicated that barring any unforeseen circumstances that might warrant change in plans, January 15 to February 26, has been fixed for the sale of UTME application document.

Similarly, March 7, 2024, has been slated for the 2024 mock-UTME, while the main UTME will hold between April 19 and 29. Candidates are expected to print their examination slips as from April 10.

He enjoined candidates interested in the 2024 UTME to take note of the dates and other advisories that might be issued by the board in relation to the administration of the examination, and they could also visit the board’s website @www.jamb gov.ng for other relevant information regarding the 2024 UTME exercise.
