 PoS agents frown at CAC’s registration mandate, says customers will pay more Some Point of Sale (PoS) agents in the FCT, have frowned at the new directive of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) for them to register with the commission. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that CAC had on Monday issued a two-month registration deadline to PoS operators to register their agents, merchants, and individuals with the commission in line with legal requirements and the directives of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The agents, who spoke to NAN in Abuja on Wednesday, said the registration which would require money would impact on transaction cost paid by customers. Mr Kofi Kolawole, a PoS agent, said the registration would deplete the profits in the business. Kolawole said the registration would also discourage people from entering the business. “I know that this registration when actualised by our operators will increase the amount they charge us. “This means that the cost we charge

Grant: Kebbi Govt Disburses N3B To 15,000 Beneficiaries 


  

 


The Kebbi State Government, has commenced the disbursement of N3 billion livelihood support grant to 15,000 beneficiaries across the state under the programme Kebbi Cares.


Speaking on occasion, Governor Nasir Idris, assured the administration's readiness to provide support to the scheme. 


Governor Idris, advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money by investing in gainful ventures that would generate income and enable them become not only self-reliant but also employers of labour.


The Governor assured that, independent verification agents from the World Bank and staff of the State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning would monitor the utilisation of the money to ensure its not diverted for other use.


He warned officials entrusted with the disbursement to be fair as the government would not condone diversion of the funds to other means other than its purpose meant for. 


In a remark, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning who double as the Chairman, Kebbi Cares steering Committee, Dr. Abba Sani Kalgo said, the programme was designed to cushion the economic and social effect on the people as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic. 


He explained that under the ongoing third round of the livelihood grant disbursement, governor Nasir Idris has instructed that the money accruing to each beneficiary should be raised to the highest peak of Two Hundred Thousand Naira limit (N200,000) set by banks which is unprecedented in the history of Kebbi State. 


Governor Idris witnessed the disbursement to first batch of beneficiaries by ATM card through POS which he confirmed the actual amount in the account .
