 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. Kwara State COVID-19 Centre Gutted By Fire 

The COVID-19 Centre, located around the Kwara state Government -owned Sobi Specialist Hospital, Alagbado, Ilorin has been gutted by fire. 

Radio Nigeria gathered that the fire was caused by an unidentified person said to have set an undergrowth around the facility on fire. 

It was also learnt that the fire later spread to the COVID-19 Centre ward. 

The incident, which was confirmed by the state Fire Service, recorded no loss of lives nor injuries. 

The Kwara state Fire service , Head of Department (HOD) Media and Publicity , Hassan Adekunle, said the swift response by the Service prevented major damage at the COVID-19 Centre. 

In his remarks The Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, advised residents of the state to prioritize safety. 

He also urged the general public to be more careful in their day-to-day activities, adding that they should desist from sending under-aged children to fetch water in domestic well.
