Netflix cancels Boots after one season Netflix has decided not to move forward with a second season of Boots, the military coming-of-age comedy-drama and the final project from legendary producer Norman Lear. The cancellation comes more than two months after the eight-episode first season debuted on the streaming platform. Despite strong critical reception—earning a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from both critics and viewers—and respectable viewership numbers, Netflix opted not to continue the series. The show had internal support, and discussions between Netflix and studio Sony Pictures Television examined long-term audience engagement before the decision. Sony had even extended contracts in August for key cast members, including Miles Heizer, Liam Oh, Kieron Moore, Dominic Goodman, Angus O’Brien, Blake Burt, and Rico Paris, in hopes of securing a second season. Suspected cable thieves arrested by vigilantes in Adamawa

Three suspected electricity cable thieves have been arrested by vigilantes in Adamawa State.
The suspects were alleged to have stolen the cables at Sabore Guga, a community along the MayoBelwa – Jada road in the southern part of the state.
The suspects were identified as Emmanuel Kefas, 45, Jonah Linus, 39, and Mustapha Aliyu, 38.
Another suspect whose name was given as Biri Modibbo is said to be currently at large.
The cables were identified as those deployed by the Yola Electricity Distribution Company, YEDC.
The YEDC, which disclosed the arrests, said it was in line with efforts to check the stealing of the company’s assets.
The Head of Corporate Communications of the company, Olugbenga Adebola, said,
“The arrest comes as a result of the company’s ongoing efforts to combat the illegal tampering with power infrastructure that has been a persistent challenge for the distribution of electricity in the region.”
Adebola alleged that in recent times, vandals have attempted to cut cables at Target Junction and Ghana Crescent at Bekaji, both in the state capital, Yola.
“The successful arrest of these individuals serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts between YEDC, vigilant community members and law enforcement agencies in addressing the issue of vandalism within their operational areas,” the YEDC official said.
