‘Conference Hall’ – Senators complain over poor quality of reconstructed Senate Chamber Senators on Tuesday expressed anger over the condition of the reconstructed Chamber, which they described as a ‘mere conference room’. Controversy has trailed the refurbished Senate Chambers since plenary resumed in the facility last week. Last Tuesday’s plenary was trailed by confusion as some Senators quarreled over sitting arrangements in the renovated chamber. During plenary on Tuesday, complaints over the standard of the Chambers led to a rowdy session which lasted for about 15 minutes and eventually forced the Senate into executive session. The Chief Whip of the Senate and lawmaker representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, who raised the issues through Order 42 of the Senate Standing Rules, said, “What is supposed to be a Chamber, has been turned into a Conference Hall”, a development which he said is not acceptable. “Mr President, I rise to make disturbing observations on this supposedly renovate

Three men accused of stabbing teenager to death in UK arrested

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a teenager was found in a park in Feltham.

According to the Met Police, officers were called at 07:40hrs on Thursday, 25 January to reports of an unresponsive man at Hanworth Park.

The police said at the scene the body of 19-year-old Tyler Donnelly was found, as he had been stabbed and assaulted.

“On Sunday, 28 January, three men, aged 21, 27 and 32, were arrested at different locations in London. They have been taken into custody.

“A crime scene at the park has now been closed,” a release from Met Police said.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, leading the investigation from the Met’s Homicide Command said Tyler left his home around 9.10pm on Wednesday evening and rode his bike along Elmwood Avenue and at some stage entered the park, saying he never returned home.

“If you were in the park and saw something, regardless of the reason you were there, please get in touch. Our focus is on what happened to Tyler and who was responsible,” he said.

Howie asked: “Similarly, if you were driving through Elmwood Avenue, returning home or out walking, did you notice anything? Did you see anyone else in the park on bikes alone or in a group? Did you perhaps see Tyler, who was wearing dark clothing, riding his grey bike?

“The H25 bus route goes through Elmwood Avenue, were you travelling through this area on Wednesday or in the early hours of Thursday? Did you see Tyler or anyone matching his description?

“Tyler’s family and friends are inconsolable after receiving the worst possible news imaginable – our thoughts are with them and they are being supported by specialist officers.”
