 "I was handed a Qur’an by a Muslim Proselytizer today.  Let me explain: I was at JFK Airport waiting lot because of Tarmac delay of arrival planes. I decided to come out of the vehicle and continue praying Lauds while enjoying the morning sun. I was equally admiring nature and nurture especially the vehicles at the parking lot. I noticed a young man beside a nice Lincoln Escalade pressing his phone. No contact. I kept doing my rounds praying. I added another dimension to the prayer. “Lord, I wish someone will appear from nowhere and ask me which of the vehicles will add value to my apostolate.” I would definitely point at the Escalade. Anyone who runs a hospital in Nigeria knows what a clean Escalade will help you do in one year.  As I approached my vehicle, I noticed the young man following me and calling out to me.  Boko Haram kills policeman, two civilians, burns palace in Yobe


Boko Haram insurgents have carried out a series of attacks in Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State, resulting in the tragic loss of lives and destruction of property.


The attacks occurred at midnight on Saturday, with gunshots echoing through the village located 17km away from Damaturu, the state capital.


During the onslaught, a mobile policeman and two civilians were killed, while the district head’s palace in Kukareta, situated on the Damaturu-Maiduguri Road, was set ablaze by the assailants.


Eyewitnesses report that the attackers, believed to be Boko Haram insurgents, descended upon homes, looting food items and burning houses.


“We lost three people, including a police mobile officer who died of a gunshot wound during the attack,” recounted a witness.


Major General Dahiru Abdulsalam (rtd), the state security adviser, in a press statement confirmed that suspected Boko Haram terrorists carried out the assault, burnt down the district head of Kukareta’s palace and two patrol vehicles belonging to security personnel.


The incident also targeted an election collation center at Kukareta, resulting in the loss of one police officer and two civilians.


Abdulsalam urged the people of the area to continue supporting the security agencies in their efforts to maintain peace and security in the area.
