 Driver hospitalized after debris falls from Cross Bronx Expressway during morning rush hour   One person was hospitalized Wednesday morning after debris fell from the Cross Bronx Expressway onto a vehicle during the rush-hour commute. The incident happened around 8 a.m. when material came down from the ceiling over a westbound lane of the expressway near the lower-level approach to the George Washington Bridge. Emergency responders transported the driver to a nearby hospital, where the person was expected to survive, according to fire officials. Westbound lanes were shut down for much of the day as crews worked to secure and repair the damaged section of the roadway. It was the second debris-related incident on the Cross Bronx Expressway within a week. In the earlier case, dashcam footage captured a large piece of concrete falling from an underpass in front of a vehicle, forcing the car to be towed after sustaining significant damage. COALITION THREARENS TO SHUT DOWN KANO MARKETS OVER DOLLAR SKYROCKETING. (PHOTOS).


 Coalition Threaten To Shut Down Kano Markets Over  Dollar Skyrocketing 


A coalition of Kano major markets leadership, have threatened to shut down all markets in the state, over the rise in the price of dollar and other currency at the forex market.


The Chairman of the Coalition Alhaji Junaid Muhammad Zakari Speaking shortly after a meeting with the leaders of over 30 Kano markets, in Kano.


He explained that, the current situation has affected traders and consumers, which necessitated the market leaders to look into the possibility of shutting down markets to curtail the increasing in inflation. 


The Chairman said, the increase in forex  has led to untold hardship on Nigerians, where the common man cannot afford three square meals,and other basic necessities.


Alhaji Junaidu appealed to Kano residents to exercise more patience, saying that, the coalition would submit a letter to the state government and relevant stakeholders, to express their displeasure over the unfortunate situation. 


The Vice Chairman, Coalition of Kano major markets leaders, Alhaji Balarabe Tatari, who doubles as Chairman Kantin Kwari market pointed out that, some unpatriotic Nigerians hoard goods due to the daily rise in forex especially dollar.


He hinted that, price of items have skyrocketed in the market, many traders have lost their capital, while consumers find it difficult to patronize goods and services due to inflation.


Alhaji Balarabe, appealed for leniency on the leader of gurasa sellers, who engaged in peaceful protest without following due process.


The Chairman, forex traders association Kano, Alhaji Sani Dada highlighted that, the issue of dollar is beyond their capacity, as their members do not have enough to sell to consumers.


He described hoarding of forex,goods and services as a major catalyst to the hardship in the country.


Others who spoke includes the leadership of Guarantors, butchers, mechanics among others.
