 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026.  Flight Disruptions: Najomo Threaten Sanctions 


The Acting Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo has expressed displeasure at domestic airline operators, over the alarming reports of incessant delays, flight disruptions, and schedule changes without adequate notice to passengers.


 Captain Najomo told newsmen in Abuja that  NCAA would ensure that airlines fulfil their obligations to passengers or face sanctions.


He said that there was  need for airlines to improve their services as the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo was determined to enforce his 5 point agenda as mandated by the president. 


He stated that the current record of flight disruptions, poor customer experience and poor handling of passengers remained unacceptable and must be improved upon. 


Captain Najomo emphasized that airlines must rejig their flight scheduled to match their number of serviceable aircraft and that airlines were aware of the airports which had sunset operations. 


He said that Airlines must handle persons with reduced mobility properly, with dignity and without discrimination as airlines were mandated to provide facilities for the movement of Persons with reduced mobility and by virtue of the provisions of Nigeria Civil aviation regulations part 19.


The Director Consumer Protection & Public Affairs, Mr. Michael Achimugu, emphasized the importance of the meeting stating that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development was focused on sanitizing the industry and that sanctions would be applied for any infractions or flight disruptions not managed properly.


Some of the Airlines Operators raised concerns of poor airport facilities, single standby generator at the General Aviation Terminal in Lagos, frequent bird strikes, bush burning in Port Harcourt congested boarding gates.


Meanwhile, the Director of Airport Operations, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mike Achimugu pointed out that the agency had observed incidents of bird strikes occurred during grass cutting at the airports and that FAAN was working tirelessly to minimize bird strike incidents.


He further said that FAAN was also looking into issues that concern airport facilities with a view to finding immediate solutions to ease passenger and baggage flow at the airport.
