 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna Closes Accident, Emergency Department


The Accident And Emergency Department of the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Kaduna has been closed for thorough disinfection process, following the loss of three members of staff and a patient, with some in critical condition in the last forty-eight hours.


The victims are suspected to have died from acute hemorrhagic fever, following the management of a patient with febrile illness, thought to have been the index patient with the disease ten days ago, who also died from the suspected disease condition.


In a circular addressed to various military health facilities by the acting corps commander medicals of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Okoigi says samples have been taken from suspected contacts, the deceased, and sent to the NCDC laboratory in Kano State for analysis.


The circular explains that strict disease infection prevention and control measures have been put in place, and an anti-viral injection has also commenced on other suspected cases, and those identified on contact tracing.


It adds that the hospital has also been directed to suspend accepting new cases from the public in the interim, while the situation is being contained.
