CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER STABBED TO DEATH BY WOMAN HE ATTEMPTED TO SEXUALLY ASSAULT. (PHOTO).

A truly shocking and breaking story out of Louisiana! Convicted sex offender stabbed to death by woman he attempted to sexually assault.

40-year-old Nicholas Tranchant was found on Sunday, unresponsive, with a visible stab wound. He was inside of a laundromat that he had entered to sexually assault a woman.

The St.Tammany Parish Sheriff's office had responded to the laundromat in response to a 911 call about the attack.

Police say Tranchant entered the laundromat and brandished a sharp weapon in an attempt to sexually assault a woman that was doing her laundry at the time. Apparently there was a struggle and the woman amazingly gained control of the weapon and used it to fatally stab Tranchant.

The woman was treated for injuries sustained during the struggle. Her current condition is unknown.

Sheriff Randy Smith said, "I want to compliment this brave woman and the strength she showed in fighting back against her attacker and ask for prayers for her continued recovery."

Tranchant was convicted in July ,2003, for indecent behavior with a juvenile, and in May, 2008, for attempted aggravated rape and aggravated burglary.

He was released from jail on Dec. 21, 2023, and required to register as a sex offender.

He was only out of prison for a little over 2 months before attacking his next victim. This brave woman certainly has made other women safe. I do hope she recovers from her injuries.
