 Former Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu dies at 74 A former captain and head coach of the Super Eagles, Christian Chukwu, is dead. He was 74. The football legend reportedly passed away in the early hours of Saturday though the exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear as of the time of filing this report. His longtime teammate and friend, Dr. Olusegun Odegbami, confirmed the development.. Odegbami, who won the 1980 Africa Nation Cup with Chukwu, said: “I just received the news that between 9:00 and 10:00 this morning, ‘Chairman’ Christian Chukwu, MFR, my bosom friend and teammate, one of the greatest football players in Nigeria’s history, has passed on. “Babuje, Emmanuel Okala, MON, gave me the sad news a few minutes ago.  EFCC Arrests 17 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja

 

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on March 1, 2024, arrested seventeen suspected internet fraudsters.

 

They were arrested in the Gwagwalada axis of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja in a sting operation, following credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet fraud.

 

 Items recovered from them  are four cars, 22 phones and two laptops.

 

They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
