OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Unarguably the Biggest Story in our world at that that time COVID 19 indeed took the world by storm. Millions died from every corner of the globe as there was no immediate known treatment to the Lethal disease. lt became apparent that even in the 21st Century and with all our Sophistication we were ill-prepared for it .


lt is hoped that with this Book, HUMANITY does not forget in a hurry how we overcame, that Health is indeed wealth, that Preparation is Key, that Politics should not override our common purpose or goals. There is also the need to invest. Invest in our health care system, infrastructure and Research, invest in family and relationships, invest in financial literacy and balance out our lives, Work, Career and priorities. At end of the day, LIFE IS FRAGILE, LIFE IS SHORT. 


Though a somewhat humbling experience : Covid 19 experience shows the Resiliency, Dedication ,Courage of human nature and like the Phoenix will always rise again. Dark nights indeed turn to day.


A potpourri of experiences and the world never remained the same again. May the Lessons of Resiliency learnt continue to be a touch stone to us all encourage us live fully and mindfully and brilliantly .
