TEXAS GIRL RECEIVES 2ND DEGREE BURNS FROM PUNISHMENT AT SCHOOL FOR LAUGHING IN CLASS. (PHOTOS).

7th grade Texas girl receives 2nd degree burns from punishment at school for laughing in class.

When Caydence Wilson and a friend "laughed in a class" her principal gave the two detention and let them know that their softball coach would be hearing about it.

It was that softball coach who decided this apparently unacceptable mild misbehavior merited severe physical punishment.

The coach made Caydence do 100 squats and 100 bear crawls or she couldnt play softball. It was the bear crawls in 90 degree heat that ended up inflicting second degree burns on Caydence's hands.

Caydence said, "I could feel my hands start to welt and burn".

When she tried telling her coach, the coach responded, "no you're fine, keep going".

After suffering the entire ordeal a different coach was sympathetic and gave Caydence ice for her injured hand. You can find pictures of the injury, however I cannot share them on this page because they are graphic.

Caydence's mother said she was not made aware of any off this even when her daughter asked if she could call her mom to bring bandages. Obviously, the second degree burn was very painful.

Her mom, Chloe Couch, didn't find out about her daughter's burn injury until she was able to text her mom photos of the second degree burn on the way home.

Chloe and Caydence ended up spending seven hours in the hospital where her large blisters were "popped" and the burn wounds cleaned. The burned skin had to be removed.

Caydence says she was in excruciating pain like a knife being stabbed into her palm.

The family is considering legal action. Chloe is a single mom who says she can't afford the hospital bills incurred on account of this severe punishment.

As for Caydence, she said she feels like she shouldn't have gone through the ordeal to play softball, the one thing she loves.

Both Chloe and Caydence say they want the public to be aware that this happened so no other children have to suffer.

I'm guilty of laughing in class more times than I can count. I just had to write a lot of sentences. I eventually learned my lesson like most students because I did not enjoy writing those sentences.
