 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. CROSS-FIT ATHLETE DIES DURING SWIMMING EVENT IN TEXAS. (PHOTO).

 A CROSSFIT Games competitor has tragically died after taking part in a swimming event.


The annual event, in Fort Worth, Texas,  seeks to crown “the fittest man and the fittest women on Earth”.


Lazar Dukic, 28, died while competing in a CrossFit Games swimming event on Thursday. 


Who was Lazar Dukic?


Lazar Dukic sadly died while competing at Marine Creek Lake at the annual CrossFit Games.


The 28-year-old was a talented water polo player and an athlete ambassador for FITAID, a sports drink brand.


Gijs Spaans, the general manager of FITAID, worked with Dukic for three years and became good friends.


He described him as a driven athlete and a “guy who walks into a room and lights up the room”.


“He had an incredible work ethic with his athletics career but, you know, always also made time to speak to people and make time for them,” he added.


“Just a really, really good dude.”
