 PICTORIAL: 15-Year-Old Nigerian Kid Sets Guinness World Record for Largest Canvas Painting 15-year-old Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke, an autistic Nigerian prodigy, has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest painting on a canvas, measuring 12,303 square meters.  The artwork was unveiled at Eagle Square, Abuja, on April 2, coinciding with World Autism Awareness Day.  The event was attended by dignitaries, art enthusiasts, and autism advocates.  Tagbo-Okeke was officially presented with his GWR certificate, marking a historic achievement.   His father expressed pride, calling it a testament to his son's determination and the limitless potential of individuals with autism.  NAFDAC Didn’t Advise Nigerians To Avoid Bread – DG


The Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Moji Adeyeye, says the agency has not advised Nigerians not to eat bread.


In a statement on Tuesday, Adeyeye labelled as false, a video circulating on social media, which claims that the agency has raised concerns about bread safety in Nigeria.


“The video which suggests that NAFDAC advised Nigerians to avoid bread due to the use of saccharine by some producers, does not reflect the observations of NAFDAC during the stakeholders’ engagement on August 16, 2024, in Ibadan, Oyo State,” she said.


Adeyeye clarified that the use of saccharine in bread is not permitted under the Nigerian Industrial Standard (NIS) and the Codex General Standard for Food Additives (GSFA).


“Any baker found using unapproved additives like saccharine will be sanctioned according to the extant regulatory provisions,” she warned.


“The Agency emphasises that at no point did it advise Nigerians to avoid bread produced in the country,” she stressed.


“We strongly dissociate ourselves from the misleading statements in the video and reassure the public that NAFDAC remains committed to its role in safeguarding the health of the nation.”

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
