Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. Russian Convict Released Twice to Fight in Ukraine After Killing Elderly Woman

A Russian convict, Ivan Rossomakhin, who was initially released from prison to fight in the war in Ukraine, has been released a second time to return to the front after killing an elderly woman, according to the relatives of the victim. "Grandma’s killer has escaped punishment for his crime – again – and has gone to fight in the war," Anna Pekareva, the granddaughter of 85-year-old Yulia Byuskikh, told the BBC.

Rossomakhin was originally serving a 14-year sentence for murder before being released in 2022 to join the Wagner mercenary group. After his time on the front lines, he was permitted to return to his hometown of Vyatskiye Polyany in Russia’s Kirov Region. It was during this time that he allegedly attacked and murdered Yulia Byuskikh in her own home.

The second release of Rossomakhin, despite the brutal crime, has sparked outrage and concern among the residents and relatives of the victim. Many fear that justice has not been served and that the war is being used as a loophole for convicted criminals to avoid proper punishment for their crimes.
