CBN DEBUNKS FAKE NEWS ON NEW N5,000 AND N10,000 BANKNOTES.(PHOTO).

  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms.  Anambra State Government Arrêsts Wife and Two Kids For Beating Up Their 75 Year Old Patriarch In Awba-Ofemmili

Anambra state government through the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare has arrésted one Esther Obidigwe, Ozioma Obidigwe, and Obuka Obidigwe for bẹāting their patriarch


The arrěst was done after the 75 year old victim, Mr Romanus, reported to the ministry. 


Sharing his experience with his family at the office of the commissioner, Mr Obidigwe, a retired senior civil servant stated that his family has been in the habit of bęäting him but what caused that particular incident was that his daughter, Ozioma sold his firewood without his consent and when he tried to know why she did so, they pounced on him, tied him up and use a rod in inflicting injuries on him. 


Mr Obidigwe further revealed that the trio has since stopped feeding him of which he accepted in good fate and that they usually steal from him especially his first son, Obuka who had gone to local government where he retired from to claim his benefits. 


The patriarch bitterly lamented that it was for the sake of peace that he gave in to his wife's compulsory "no sexual relationship" since year 2000 till date. He also noted that it took the intervention of a neighbor before they stopped, after which they locked him out of his compound. 


When they were asked why they inflicted injury on their father, his son, Obuka, denied being present when an incident happened while his wife, Mrs Esther Obidigwe confessed to the crime whereas the daughter, alleged that it was what the father wanted to do to her that turned against him.


The women affairs boss, Hon. Ify Obinabo, who was visibly furious over the dastardly act, promised to make sure the patriarch gets justice. 


Hon. Obinabo, therefore, warned every member of the society to desist from crime as the present administration is out to make sure the oppressed gets justice.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
