A former Chairman of the Sokoto State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ibrahim Milgoma, has passed away.

A statement signed by the spokesman of the party, Hassan Sanyinnawal and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, revealed that Milgoma died on Tuesday after a protracted illness.

The party described his death as a colossal loss, not only to the party in the state but also at the national level.

The statement read in part, ā€œThe late Ibrahim Milgoma was a distinguished gentleman and respected leader who contributed immensely to the development of Sokoto State and Nigeria in general.

ā€œThe PDP Sokoto State Chapter prays that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, rewards his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus, and grants his household and the entire state the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.ā€
