 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident.   Governor Mbah Renames Obinagu Road to Mike Ejeagha Road in Honor of Folk Music Legend


Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has officially renamed Obinagu Road in Abakpa Nike, Enugu, to Mike Ejeagha Road. This renaming pays tribute to the legendary folk musician Mike Ejeagha, who has made enduring contributions to the preservation and promotion of Igbo folklore through his music.


Governor Mbah’s decision to rename the road reflects the state’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of its cultural figures. Mike Ejeagha, a living legend, has played a pivotal role in enriching the Igbo cultural heritage, and this honor is seen as a fitting acknowledgment of his lifelong dedication to folk music.


Residents of Abakpa Nike and fans of Mike Ejeagha have welcomed the renaming, viewing it as a well-deserved recognition for an artist whose work has deeply resonated across generations.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
