Man brutalises his pregnant wife in Anambra  In another case of domestic violence, a pregnant woman was brutally beaten by her husband in Ichi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The mother of three identified as Chinelo Francis, from Ebonyi State, said trouble began when she requested money from her husband, Peter, to prepare food.  According to the young woman, she had already bought vegetable with the profit she made from her shop. Peter, also from Ebonyi, claimed he didn’t make money that day and took the children home.  He returned to her shop at around 8:00 PM and insisted she close up and come home with him.  She refused, explaining that the time was when she typically made most of her sales.  Later, she closed up her shop, went home at 9:30 PM, prepared the children for bed, and retired. 'I Never Dreamed of Weddings'-Nancy Isime

Nigerian actress Nancy Isime has opened up about her views on marriage, revealing that her focus has always been on building a successful career and achieving financial independence rather than dreaming of a traditional wedding. In a recent interview on the Creativitea Live with Lynda podcast, Isime shared that, unlike many young girls, she never fantasized about getting married but instead envisioned a life where she was working and financially independent.

"I've always seen myself working," Isime said. "When young girls sit down and daydream about getting married, I never did. I used to daydream about working, making my own money, and being independent. I fear that I might not even have my dream wedding because what is a dream wedding? If I get married, it will just be a wedding that we both agree on, whether big or small."

The actress explained that her mindset was shaped by her upbringing, having grown up in a humble household where money was scarce. She emphasized that this experience fueled her determination to be self-sufficient. "I've always been that child who saw myself having my own money. I came from a background where asking for things was almost taboo because there was no money. So I couldn't wait to have my own and do my own thing," Isime added.

Her focus remains on living the life she envisions for herself. "That's why I believe in spending on myself. I spend on myself so much that nobody can say, 'If not for me, you wouldn't have this life,'" she concluded.
