Prosecutors Say Teen Killed Mom and Showed Friend Corpse: 'Are You Squeamish Around Dead Bodies?' According to prosecutors, when a 14-year-old Mississippi girl frantically messaged her friend to come over to help with an “emergency” one afternoon this past March, the friend had no idea what she'd witness next. "Are you squeamish around dead bodies?" 14-year-old Carly Gregg allegedly asked the friend when she answered the front door, according to Mississippi state prosecutor Kathryn White Newman, in footage broadcast by CourtTV, who spoke at the now-15-year-old's murder trial. Local WAPT and WJTV also reported on Newman's opening statements in the trial, which began Monday. According to Newman, moments later, Gregg led her friend to her bedroom, where her mother was dead on the floor from three gunshots, CourtTV and WAPT reported.  LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE CRACKS DOWN ON ILLEGAL PARKING AT BERGER BUS STOP

In a continued effort to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and maintain public safety in accordance with the THEMES PLUS Agenda of the State Government, the Lagos State Taskforce carried out a major operation at Berger Bus Stop, inward Ibadan, where commercial and private vehicles have consistently parked on the Expressway, disregarding the legally assigned Lay-by Bus Stop created for that purpose. This illegal parking has resulted in significant traffic blockades, inconveniencing both pedestrians and motorists along that route.

The operation, led by the Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, was aimed at enforcing compliance with traffic regulations across major traffic prone areas of the State and ensure free vehicular movement is not hindered by any set of entities.

“A total number of 28 vehicles have been impounded and I hope it serves a form of warning to commercial operators that are in the habit of parking indiscriminately and inconveniencing Lagosians.  The transport unions operating in the area had been repeatedly warned to refrain from parking on the expressway and make full use of the assigned bus stop but unfortunately, these warnings were ignored, leading to today's enforcement action.”

The Chairman further stated that the safety of Lagosians and the need for free-flowing traffic are part of the core mandates of the Agency therefore the Agency would not rest on its oars in attaining it. The State Government has invested in adequate infrastructure such as the Lay-by Bus Stop, garages and expects full compliance from both commercial and private vehicle operators plying that route.

The Lagos State Taskforce reiterates its commitment to ensuring that all road users abide by traffic laws and encourages citizens to cooperate with the Agency to prevent further disruptions. The Chairman assured Lagosians that the traffic enforcement exercise will be continuous across various parts of the State where there have been reports of man-made traffic infractions.

The drivers of all confiscated vehicles will be charged to court according to the recommendations of the law.
