Oyo govt raises LAUTECH doctors’ hazard allowance, pays 7 months arrears after investigation

The Oyo State Government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, has taken steps to address the concerns of the resident doctors at the Ladoke Abiola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso.

Following a recent investigation by BusinessDay, it was revealed that the health workers at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital were facing challenges including heavy workloads, stagnant salaries, and a meagre hazard allowance of N5,000.

In response to these concerns, Governor Makinde has implemented an increase in hazard allowance and has settled seven months' arrears for the workers. The President of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at the facility, Dr. David Olaniyan, confirmed this positive development.

Dr. Olaniyan expressed gratitude for the increased hazard allowance and arrears payment and also called for the governor's attention to other pending requests to further enhance service delivery. The health workers appreciate the governor's actions and hope for continued collaboration to improve the quality of service delivery.
