 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence.  Troops Arrest Suspected Kidnappers’ Informant In Taraba


Troops have apprehended a woman suspected of being an informant for kidnappers in Taraba State.


According to Captain Oni Olubodunde, the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 6 Brigade in Jalingo, the suspect was arrested on September 6, 2024, in Sondi village, located within the Wukari Local Government Area.


The suspect, identified as Miss Markus Grace, is reportedly the girlfriend of a notorious kidnapper known as ‘Chen,’ who has been terrorizing local residents.


Captain Oni further stated that the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing investigation to determine the extent of her involvement in various criminal activities.


The Army spokesman also announced that troops intercepted a Toyota Yaris with the registration number Taraba KLD 652 XA, which was carrying an AK-47 rifle and an AK-47 magazine.


Additionally, two Identity Cards from the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) were recovered from the vehicle.


He explained that while on routine stop-and-search patrol in Bantaje town of the Wukari council on September 5, 2024, the troops flagged down a suspicious blue Toyota Yaris that was traveling from Wukari towards Jalingo.


Captain Oni further noted that the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled into nearby bushes when it was stopped.


Upon conducting a thorough search of the abandoned vehicle, the troops discovered the firearms and the NURTW Identity Cards belonging to Isa Ibrahim and Mallam Isa Garin Tukura, both from Gassol Local Government Area.


He confirmed that investigations are ongoing to trace and apprehend the suspect, as well as to ascertain the involvement of the individuals associated with the identity cards.
