 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Kaduna Customs Mourns Over Demise of Assistant Comptroller Victor Tswanya


The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Kaduna Area Command mourns over the demise of Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Victor Tswanya, who passed away at his residence in Barnawa, Kaduna, after a brief illness.


The death of the senior officer was announced in an official statement released by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Ridwan Yusuf, on 6 October 2024.


The statement reads, "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Assistant Comptroller of Customs Victor Tswanya, who, until his demise, served as the Acting Deputy Comptroller in charge of Administration at the Kaduna Customs Area Command.


"Assistant Comptroller Tswanya, a dedicated officer, passed away peacefully at his Barnawa, Kaduna residence. His contributions to the Nigeria Customs Service, where he served for over three decades, will be deeply missed."


The statement further notes that the late senior officer was an indigene of Gbako Local Government Area of Niger State and was born on 7 November 1967. "He was enlisted into the Nigeria Customs Service on 1 January 1992 and was promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller on 1 January 2023."


The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Tijani Abe, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, praising Tswanya as an exemplary officer whose contributions will be greatly missed.


The Command extended its condolences to Tswanya's family, praying for their strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
