Dangote Refinery To Supply 60 Million Litres Of Petrol Weekly To IPMAN To Boost Crude Imports The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reached an agreement to supply 60 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on a weekly basis, which translates to 240 million litres per month. This comes as the $20bn Lekki-based refinery seeks to raise billions of dollars to import crude oil and increase production to reach its full capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. IPMAN National Publicity Secretary, Chinedu Ukadike, confirmed that the association is finalizing discussions with Dangote and expects to start lifting PMS from the refinery before the end of November.  Shettima directs support for Jigawa as death toll from tanker explosion rises to 140

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has announced federal government’s intervention for victims of the tanker explosion in Jigawa state.

Nura Abdullahi, spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), said no fewer than 140 people died in the incident.

He added that the victims have since been buried in a mass grave on Wednesday and warned that the toll might rise.

In a statement on Tuesday, Stanley Nkwocha, special assistant to the president on media and communications, Shettima expressed sadness over the incident.

“My heart aches for those who have had their families torn apart by this disaster,” Shettima was quoted as saying.

“This devastating incident has shaken us all to our core. The federal government stands with the people of Jigawa.

“We are mobilising all necessary resources to support the injured and assist the families affected by this calamity.”

Nkwocha added that Shettima has directed the deployment of NEMA personnel and resources to Jigawa state.

“As we contend with this tragedy, let us also reflect on the importance of safety measures and public awareness to prevent such incidents in the future,” he added.

“Every life is precious, and we must do all we can to protect our citizens.”

The vice president also commended first responders and medical personnel for their efforts, stating that their dedication “exemplifies the best of our nation’s spirit.”

Shettima had inaugurated the National Road Safety Advisory Council (NaRSAC) on October 11, urging members to align with global best practices in reducing traffic crashes.

He tasked the council with setting national road safety strategy targets and ensuring effective coordination between federal, state, and local governments to achieve shared road safety objectives.

“Road safety is not merely a matter of policy but a critical part of the lifeline that connects the people of this nation,” he said.
