Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION PANEL ESTABLISHED BY THE NHRC, HAS CLEARED THE MILITARY OF ALLEGATIONS THAT IT CARRIED OUT FORCED ABORTIONS ON WOMEN IMPREGNATED BY BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS. (PHOTO).

An independent investigation panel established by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has cleared the military of allegations that it carried out forced abortions on women impregnated by Boko Haram terrorists.

The panel, chaired by retired Supreme Court Justice Abdu Aboki, was formed in February 2023 after a Reuters report on December 7, 2022, claimed the military had forcibly terminated about 10,000 pregnancies between 2013 and 2021 as part of a strategy to prevent children fathered by Boko Haram members from being born.

Following hearings in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states, the NHRC stated it found no evidence supporting the claims.

The NHRC clarified that any cases of abortion in hospitals were legally conducted for medical reasons, with data showing 5,945 cases of procedures used to complete miscarriages across three states between 2013 and 2023.
