 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Anambra State Women Protest Death Of  Woman Burnt To Death By Husband 



Women from the 179 communities in Anambra State have embarked on a peaceful demonstration to mourn Late Mrs Blessing Nwaka, the woman who was burnt to death by her husband in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state. 


The women led their protest to the office of the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Center Awka. 


The protesters were made up of reputable women from different women associations including Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU led by the National President of ASATU Women Wing, Mrs Ify Okaro. 


Mrs Okaro warned their male counterparts to handle their spouses with care and love and avoid situations that will lead to violence. 


Also, the representative of the Women Leaders of communities, Mrs Josine Unachukwu, promised to raze down houses of anyone that will kill their spouses again in the state. 


Responding, Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo assured the women of the resolve of the wife of the Governor, Mrs Nonye Soludo to ensure that justice takes its full course and called on men to always report their wives to the ministry instead of taking laws into their hands.


The women who were visibly sad over the incident chanted, "marriage is not a do or die affair", "anujuo must go"; and "stop killing women" as they continued their protest.
